‘The world has kissed me with its pain, for singing by me in return.’
On the evening of March 9th, the school lecture hall was full of poetry. The teachers of the Junior High Department of the west campus met their poetic self in the ‘Stray Birds’ presented by teacher Pan Li.
The ‘Stray Birds’ is one of the masterpieces of Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore and also one of the most outstanding poetry collections in the world which consists of 325 beautiful poems without titles. Day and night, stream and sea, freedom and betrayal, all come together under Tagore's writing. In one short sentence, a profound philosophy of life is expressed, leading the world to search for the source of truth and wisdom.
Whether it is' life is beautiful like summer flowers, and death is beautiful like autumn leaves', or 'when you cry for missing the sun, you will miss the stars again', every poem of Tagore tells us to make use of our limited life to do the infinite cause, and find the distance and orientation between ideal and reality in poetry. The true love and pursuit of life is not to hide from the world, not to exaggerate, or not to be cowardly. The gentle voice of teacher Pan Li warmed everyone's heart like a trickle of water.
In summary, through poetry we open a door to a dialogue with the world just as the morning star leads us to the dawn. As long as there is tender and firm love in the heart, life will have a crystal texture and heavy power.
